Conference
Without a doubt, the conference will be the most exciting part of the UNISCA course for most participants. Without a doubt, the conference will be the most exciting part of the UNISCA
course for most participants. Over 320 students from all over the world will come to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, assume the positions of world leaders, and discuss global
problems, like the reform of the UN Security Council, the role of women in development and the peace process in the Middle East. The conference will be completely in English.
Participants will represent a UN member state or a UN recognised organisation at the conference. They will have to find solutions for problems derived from the UN agenda, taking into
account the perspectives of the state or organisation they are representing. Participants engage in both informal lobbying sessions and formal debate sessions. These sessions will take
place in special forums which have their counterparts in the real world (e.g. there will be a simulated Security Council). The debates will be chaired by selected students.
When you register, you can specify your preferences concerning the country or organisation you wish to represent and the forum you would like to attend. Additional information concerning
these forums and concerning the issues each of these forums will try to tackle, will be sent to you after you have filled out the indicated that you are interested in participating in the
project by sending UNISCA an e-mail or by filling out the
information request
.
If you have participated in a Model United Nations conference before, we strongly encourage you to apply for a position as chairperson. You will preside the forum of your choice and
maintain order during the conference. If you are interested, please
